How To Make The Best Chimichurri Chicken Wings

Super Bowl Sensation: Chimichurri Chicken Wings

Over 162.5 million pounds of chicken wings will be eaten in America this upcoming Super Bowl Sunday. For this game day, ditch the predictable buffalo wings and wow your guests with these flavor-packed Chimichurri Chicken Wings. The big game is just around the corner, and you know what that means: a day of football, friends, family, and of course, delicious chicken wings; among other foods of course.

These Chimichurri Chicken wings are incredibly easy to make and boast a vibrant, herbaceous flavor that will have everyone asking for your secret recipe. The key to their deliciousness lies in the chimichurri sauce, a vibrant blend of fresh herbs, and garlic, and my new rub, The Blaxican Fajita seasoning.

My chimichurri marinade recipe is very versatile and is already featured on my website in my carne asada bowl recipe! It’s the same marinade used for these wings. You can use this recipe for seafood, beef, pork or chicken.

Chimichurri Marinade

½ cup chopped cilantro

3 cloves garlic chopped

½ red onion

4 tbsp The Blaxican Fajita seasoning(or more)

½ cup olive oil

4 tbsp of red wine vinegar

Zest and juice of an orange

Zest and juice of a lime

Salt to taste (compensate for the extra liquid added).

Taste the marinade and adjust as you need. Mix all these ingredients together and marinate the wings for about 1 hour. This marinade is also perfect for chicken and pork.

Here’s the magic:

 * Marinate: Toss your chicken wings in the chimichurri marinade and let them soak up all that flavor for at least 30 minutes but not more than an hour.

 * Grill or Bake: Grill the wings to perfection on the barbecue, or bake them in the oven until crispy and golden brown. About 40-50 minutes depending on the size of your wings.

 * Serve: Serve the wings hot with extra chimichurri sauce for dipping. Garnish with fresh cilantro and lime wedges for an extra touch of brightness.

For the best chimichurri sauce, check out my homemade recipe right here on my website! It’s simple to make and adds a burst of fresh flavor to any dish.

Grilling the wings

Preheat the grill (an oven or air fryer will work just as well) to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. When the cooking device is ready, place the wings on and allow to cook for 20 minutes. Flip wings once and then cook for an additional 20 minutes, or until you get the desired doneness. These wings will be ready to serve with a side or drizzle of the chimichurri sauce. Lightly dust with some of The Blaxican to add a slight pop of flavor.

These Chimichurri Chicken Wings are guaranteed to please the crowd, even if your team is not in the big game. Their unique flavor profile will make them the talk of your Super Bowl party. So ditch the ordinary and get ready to impress your guests with this delicious and easy-to-make recipe!

Pro Tip: Don’t forget to serve up these wings alongside some refreshing margaritas and your favorite game-day snacks!

Happy Super Bowl!
