The Only Jerk Allowed At The Super Bowl Party
Your favorite food and your favorite flavor had a baby. Now we have Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wings, and you’ll love this recipe. This recipe is versatile and will allow you to control the flavors, spice, and everything in between. My Jamaican Jerk Marinade is available here, but if you want a little less heat, the dry rub is sold on my website. This is a way for everyone who shows up to the cookout to be able to enjoy some Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wings, possibly for the first time, ever.
The Jerk marinade recipe uses Scotch Bonnet pepper, so if that is too much for you, we’re gonna show you in the video, how to make a deconstructed marinade, but mild using my NEW Jamaican Jerk dry rub. If you want the dry rub, but you want that Scotch Bonnet kick, then get yourself a bottle of Scotch Bonnet powder or Scotch Bonnet flakes from Amazon.
Let’s get the marinade going
Ingredients
Minced garlic
Chopped yellow onion
Scallions
Thyme
Dry Jerk Seasoning (to taste)
Vegetable oil
Once all your ingredients are prepped, mix together well to combine. Taste the seasoning mixture to see if there is enough spice. Then you want to mix in your fresh chicken wings and get them all coated in the mix. Cover and let them sit in the refrigerator for at least two hours. When you’re ready to cook, get your grill running around 350-375° and place your wings on. Flip after 20 minutes and after 40 minutes the wings should be done. If not, just let them go until your desired doneness.
Sauce Or No Sauce?
If you are looking for some heat, you can toss in my Pineapple Jerk Hot Sauce available on YouTube. However, if you’re not that adventurous, but you still want a little sauce, here’s a solution. Get a plain original BBQ sauce, the brand doesn’t matter. Pour your desired amount into a bowl and this is where the magic happens. Add some of my Jamaican Jerk Marinade with the sauce and whiskey together to combine. Start with a little and then add more if you want. Then you now have a sauce to toss your wings in or simply brush it on. Return them to the grill and let them go for about 10 minutes to allow the sauce to tack up.
Whether you want them sauced up or dry rubbed, this recipe packs a ton of flavor thanks to the Jamaican Jerk dry rub. This rub’s earthy yet tropical flavors will tantalize your taste buds and leave you wanting more. Be sure to check out my other Chicken Wings recipes on the website as well.
